In the heart of Revive Africa’s mission lies a profound dedication to supporting initiatives that uplift communities and empower individuals to overcome obstacles. Among these cherished endeavours, Mandeville Para Swimming Club stands as a beacon of resilience and triumph.
Mandeville Para Swimming Club (MPS) is South Africa’s only club dedicated to teaching disadvantaged children with a disability to swim and thereafter furthering their swimming careers with specialist coaching.
At MPS, we find not just a programme but a family, led by the indomitable spirit of Paralympian Tadhg Slattery. With unparalleled dedication, Tadhg has not only achieved glory in the pool but has also nurtured a community of aspiring swimmers, offering them not just the skill of swimming but the courage to defy limitations. From the gentle strokes of Learn to Swim to the fierce competition of Elite Swimming, MPS opens its arms wide, particularly welcoming those from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Kabelo
Zwane
MPS isn’t just a swim club; it’s a sanctuary of hope, a testament to the boundless potential residing within every individual. Within the tapestry of inspiration at MPS, shines the story of Kabelo Zwane.
Since the tender age of ten, Kabelo has epitomised perseverance and dedication, his journey intertwined with the fabric of Mandeville Para Swimming. Yet, his path to the Paralympic Games has encountered hurdles, none more daunting than the need for a confirmed international classification. Despite setbacks, Kabelo’s spirit remains unbroken, his determination unwavering as he strives to qualify for the Paris Paralympics in 2024.
We are committed to assisting Kabelo and other swimmers in reaching their full potential through fundraising initiatives, awareness campaigns and any other support they require.
Revive Africa embraces Mandeville Para Swimming Club not merely as a charity we support but as a cause deeply etched into our collective consciousness. It’s a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit, the transformative power of sport and the boundless potential for positive change when communities unite in solidarity and support.
