UNDERSTANDING
LITHIUM-ION BATTERY RECYCLING
Lithium-ion batteries power a wide range of electronic devices, from smartphones and laptops to electric vehicles and renewable energy storage systems. While these batteries offer high energy density and long lifespan, they also present significant environmental and social challenges when they reach the end of their useful life.
Lithium-ion battery recycling involves the safe and efficient recovery of valuable materials, such as lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite, from spent batteries. By recycling lithium-ion batteries, we reduce the demand for virgin materials, minimise environmental pollution and mitigate the social impacts associated with resource extraction.
Battery Collection and Sorting:
We establish collection points and partnerships with stakeholders to gather spent lithium-ion batteries efficiently. Batteries are sorted based on type, size and chemistry to optimise the recycling process.
Battery Dismantling and Processing:
Our state-of-the-art recycling facilities are equipped with advanced equipment and trained personnel to dismantle batteries safely and extract valuable materials such as lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite through mechanical and hydrometallurgical processes.
Material Refinement and Reuse:
Recovered materials undergo purification and refining processes to meet industry standards for reuse in the manufacturing of new batteries and other applications. By closing the loop on material use, we contribute to the circularity of the battery supply chain.
